Steel spacer allows firm securing of lower cup halves, more positive results during tapping adjustments and reduces chance of central re-enforcement rib separation.
Spacer fits perfectly into new, later designed, spotting cups with reinforcement rib. Care must be taken when using spacer in used cups where distortion from previous bolt mounting is present.
